We have been to Disneyland as a family a couple of times, but always came home feeling like it wasn't worth the money. It is hard when you have different aged kids who want to do different things. Some who still need to be nursed or changed, some who want to see princesses, some who want to ride roller coasters, some who could go all night and some who are so exhausted because they went without a nap so they are done by 4:00. Anyway, we decided to start a new tradition. Each time one of our kids turn 8 we will give them a Book of Mormon, and when they finish it we will take them (all by themselves) to Disneyland. So Chase finished it before he turned 9 actually, but because Lola was nursing we waited until now to go.
So Thursday morning we left a very rainy Utah, to go to Sunny California!!
It was so much fun! Chase is such a fun kid to hang out with! When Matt and I are together we get super dorky, and for some reason we can't talk normal. We think we're hilarious!! Well Chase joined right in the fun, and I will say he does a pretty good Scottish accent, and talking like a hick is No problem. I love the kid. We made some fun memories together this weekend.

So feel free to skip all the boring details and just peek at the pictures because I know I can be a little long winded.
Chase's 2 favorite rides were... Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain!! We did both of those a bunch (Thanks to fast passes!) At the end of space Mountain there is a camera that takes your picture so each time we would go on it we would pick a theme, excited, scared, bored, happy, whatever. Well my face always looked the same, you know when you were a kid and you would grab someones face and say "Hi my name's chubby... " and then you would go on to tell the story about chubby going for a ride on the motorcycle and saying "faster Daddy, faster... TOO FAST!!" Well regardless of what the theme was my face always looked like Chubby's "too fast" face. Ah well...
Friday we hit California adventures, a first for all of us. It was really fun! The first ride we did when we got their was the Bear River Rapids, and Chase got drenched. Matt and I were sitting across from him and the look on his face as a bucket worth of water landed on his lap was PRICELESS.
We got some input on which rides were a must and the 2 that everyone said were California Screamin, and Twilight Tower of Terror. Chase was up for trying both. He loved Tower of Terror, but his exact words after going on California Screamin were "That is not exactly what I would call 'Fun' " We tried to bribe him to go on it with us again but he was not interested.
Half way through the second day we decided to give our tired feet a rest and head on over to the pool. Our hotel was right across the street from the park, so we just walked home and spent a couple hours lounging and then went back over around dinnertime and stayed until closing.
Chase was like the energizer bunny, we would seriously limp into our hotel room at like 11:30 and he would beg us to stay up late and watch a movie... So we did. Because sometimes it's fun just to be totally irresponsible, even though you know in the back of your head you'll be paying for it in the morning.
Have you ever seen any of the Etrade commercials?? Well this is Chase's "shocked" face.
We were able to get tickets for the World of Color... It was Amazing! Kind of like the Bellagio's water show on Steroids!!
What an Amazing Memory! Love You Chase!! Thanks for a Great Weekend!
